Developing and Inspiring the problem solvers of tomorrow

Developing and Inspiring the problem solvers of tomorrow

Imagine when your child is faced with a problem or challenge, their default mindset is ‘How can I solve that?’

Teaching kids to be effective thinkers and problem solvers will help them emotionally, cognitively, and socially as well as building their resilience.

How do you as a parent build confidence in your kids and get them to realise their actions can create a positive impact in the world?

At Wonder HQ, we create interactive adventures that combine tech, real world activities, and immersive story lines that see the child become the hero.

But first, some background.

During a holiday, while sitting at a café a waiter came up and handed my son a box that said “Top Secret” and told him he had a very important mission for him. (I had set this up with the waiter earlier)

When we got back to the hotel, he opened the box to find a ‘spy kit’ with binoculars, camera, compass, a piece of pirate treasure and a note.

“Dear Agent– there is some missing treasure, and we need YOUR help to find it!”

Everywhere we went, I had a pocket full of clues and a pocket full of plastic pirate treasure.

I hid clues to be found or got friendly passers-by (other secret agents) to hand my son clues. I would make up things for him to do, or riddles to solve.

He dug up treasure on the beach, found a piece at the bottom of a water slide, and found another by finding the direction the sun set in the hotel.

Not only was my son having a great time on his ‘mission’, having to think about problems differently and learning new skills along the way, but I got to see this unfold as his sidekick. By creating a world of intrigue, I had front row seats to watch the adventure through his eyes, and it’s something I’ll never forget.

He spent the next few months telling anyone who would listen he was a secret agent (breaking the first rule of being a secret agent)

We want to share this experience with as many parents as possible, and help create childhood memories that will last a lifetime.

Our goal is to get children to fall in love with learning, develop critical thinking skills and to instill an early belief that what they do matters.

Each mission your child completes will have a real impact in the world.

The Global Goals is a collection of independent but interconnected goals designed to give us, our kids and the planet a better future, with hundreds of targets and measurement indicators geared toward a date of 2030.

Proceeds of each mission your child completes will go towards one of the goals, with the positive impact made by your child being woven into the story.

Wonder HQ adventures are a unique experience, where your child develops problem solving skills while having an awesome adventure.

They will be guided by video’s and storytelling, as you hide the clues around your home to be found by your child at the appropriate time.

The experiences are designed to be a shared experience between you and your child and take usually between 1.5 – 2 hours to complete.

We hope you enjoy the experience as much as we did creating it.
